8-Year Enterprise Automation Evolution

The Journey

During my 8-year tenure as an IT contractor, I architected and evolved a high-scale automation strategy that survived multiple technology shifts and team re-organizations.

• The Problem: We started with a high-maintenance legacy Specflow suite that was slowing down deployments.
• The First Pivot: I migrated the core logic to Playwright (C#) to gain speed, stability, and better debugging tools.
• The Leadership Pivot: I recognized that while C# was powerful, it created a “knowledge silo.” The offshore UX/Dev teams struggled to contribute.
• The Solution: I led a final migration to Playwright + TypeScript. This aligned the testing framework with the tech stack the devs were already using.
• The Result: Successful hand-off to offshore teams and 8 years of consistent contract extensions based on the value delivered.
